Fridays Letters

Dear Weekend, I am so excited that you are finally here. Its the last weekend of September and this girl loves October. It officially feels like fall and we have a lot going on! Just this weekend is jammed packed with fun stuff going on!

Dear Truck Bash, I am so excited that Anthony is finally getting the zuki fixed and we are going to get to go fourwheeling on Saturday with a bunch of our friends that we haven't seen forever! This girl is ready to get behind the wheel of that big toy!!
Dear Tank, I love you big boy but your aggressiveness when it comes to food or your toys has got to stop! Your scaring me buddy and Turbo and Lightning. You only have roughly 8 months and we will be living in our own place just you and Diesel with all the toys you could ever ask for and no one stealing them. Now as for one armed Looey he might not be as lucky to make it that long, but there will be many more.

Dear October, you are bringing lots of fun into my life but please take it slow so I can remember to enjoy it. We have a couple wiener roasts, a maternity session to shoot, some fall family sessions, the start of bow season starts on Saturday, Pre-Cana at our Church, Ohio State football games, a trip to the pumpkin patch and I am sure there will be more fun thrown in there. Can't wait (:

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

I am really close to having the wedding invitation design all finished.
Originally I was planning on just ordering the invitations from a company but kept going back to my love for anything DIY and just the personal touch it takes to put into anything handmade. So after tossing the idea around for a couple months I decided "why not?" I began looking all over pinterest and other websites for ideas. After finding an amazing site called Wedding Chicks who offer free invitation suites where you can choose from one of the many designs that are available, fill in your information and then download it to your computer where you can then print them from your home printer or take them to a printer and they can do the printing for you.

Last week I showed you the idea from pinterest that I fell in love with and decided to do my own of:

Here is how mine turned out!

For the inside with all of the information for the wedding I used the invitation suite from Wedding Chicks which was the simple monogram one. Next I was racking my brain for a cute idea for the RSVP cards and the guest information cards to be put in the invitations.

I noticed a trend of just using a postcard for the RSVP card and I loved it but wanted to create it myself.
I ended up taking the RSVP mason jar card from Wedding Chicks and doing a little editing in picmonkey to give it some more colors. I also downloaded a mason jar digital kit from Alisa's Etsy shop - Graphic Market since we are going with the mason jar and rustic country them for our wedding. For the back of the card I once again resorted to picmonkey and created the image to be used with the RSVP information in a postcard format.
For ordering the cards I ended up using Vistaprint and just download both my images and since this was my first time using Vistaprint account I got an amazing deal on the postcards...100 cards for $24.96 plus shipping it came out to $38.64. The postcards came in the mail on Monday and I was so excited to see they turned out just like I imagined!!

Now I am on to designing our guest information cards, I know I am wanting a little twist with these to have our engagement pictures on them. As soon as we get our engagement pictures back from Blaire I will also be putting the finishing touches to our Save The Dates!
If you have any questions on how I designed our wedding invitations or need help with your own feel free to shoot me an email and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

A little pick me up...

While looking around for new blogs today to read I came across this amazing story.

Do you ever find one of those blogs that is just perfect, everything is written to grab your attention, the pictures are beyond being able to be explained in words, maybe the blogger has a great story or even a great looking home with all the greatest DIY projects?
When I do find these blogs I am all over them. I literally go back to the beginning and start reading it post by post. I hope I am not the only one who does this.

Today the person I came across might not have the most gorgeous home but his story is one that will pull at your heart strings and remind you not to take anything for granted. I cannot even begin to explain to you his story. All I can tell you is go check out Taylor's story.
I first saw it from looking at this Love Story in 22 Pictures but then followed the link over to Tim Dodd Photography's blog. There is also Taylor's Blog that I am now busy reading through! I am telling you this man's story will make you cry, smile, maybe even cry some more, and leave your heart feeling warm and a new sense of acceptance for what you might have to go through every day. From now on when I think I am having a rough day I am going to think of Taylor and quickly be reminded that things could be worse.

Fall is finally here

I had a pretty exciting weekend!!
I am loving the fall weather finally setting in in Ohio.
Friday night we were lazy and just sat around and watched movies.
Saturday Anthony and I got our engagement pictures taken
by our friend Blaire!
Who by the way is an amazing photographer, check her out on
facebook: Blaire Border Photography
After riding in the bed of the truck on the way back from taking pictures.
Saturday night we had a bon fire down on the sand bar along the river
at the farm. It was a perfect night to be out except it was a little chilly
luckily we had the fire!

It was also Jk's 19th birthday! my baby brother isn't a baby anymore ):
Sunday I took Anthony to work and was lucky enough to get to borrow
his truck for the day! Made me miss driving my truck and having stick shift
Blaire posted a little sneak peak of our pictures
on Sunday too!
Let me tell you, I am IN LOVE with them!!!
We started out at the county fairgrounds where we met 7 years ago and got some pictures there
and then some at a farm!
The rest of the weekend consisted of giving my
doggies baths and playing and lounging around outside

I also fit in some wedding crafting
and got the wedding invitations designed
so now just to get all supplies and get them all put together.

Just another typical Saturday morning around here..
woke up to coffee kisses from Anthony
watching some early morning hunting shows in preparation
for the coming deer season.
some VH1 Totally 80's music videos with my Dad
this is one of those things that goes on every Saturday morning.

Soon enough I am going to get my butt off
this couch and start getting ready for the day.
I have laundry to do..
dishes to wash..
and start getting ready for our engagement pictures!
I am so excited
I have had my outfits planned for 2 months now
but last night I started really putting them together and pairing them with Anthony's.
my friend Blaire is taking them for us
We are going to the fairgrounds where we met 7 years ago
and to two different farms.
I cannot wait to see how they turn out.

After reading some blogs
taking a gand on pinterest
I am going to get off of here until Monday in order to enjoy my weekend
Here's hoping that yours is wonderful too!

Wedding Wednesday

I am finally getting stuff done around here pertaining to the wedding!!
and it is so exciting!!!!

there are 276 days until we say "I Do"
that is nine months to get everything wrapped up and ready to go.

two weeks ago I posted some of the stuff I was wanting to get done
before the end of this month and man oh man am I getting those checked off.
my list included:
-hiring a photographer
-getting our engagement pictures done
-picking or creating our save the dates
-mailing out the save the dates
-buying my wedding dress
-hiring a caterer

well last Monday I hired our photographer!!
this was a big thing for me since the pictures are what make my
top 5 list of the most important things for our big day.
We chose the same girl that did Alyssa and Nick's wedding and I am so excited
because their's turned out amazing!!!
if you are from around the Columbus, Ohio area and are looking
for a good photographer check her out on facebook:
TyNicolePhotography

this Saturday we are getting our engagement pictures done
by one of my really good friends and bridesmaid!
I have been looking forward to this for a long time now but for some
reason just kept putting it off and putting it off.
Well Saturday Anthony has the day off so we are definitely getting them done then!

After we get our engagement pics then I
can finish working on our save the dates! I have lots
of ideas but I don't want to make anything final until I have our
engagement pictures to go with.

We pretty much have the caterer picked
but still need to call around to a couple other places
and possibly have a taste date at the place I really want to have do it!

On Sunday we all went up to David's Bridal
where I bought my wedding dress!
I wasn't completely sure if I was going to find what I wanted up there
but as soon as I put the dress on I knew that it was the one!!!
I am so excited with it.
It won't be coming in until December 3rd and I am not posting any pictures
of me in it because it is a surprise!
the only picture I will post is the only one that I showed Anthony:

yes your seeing that right too!
those are my boots peeking out from under there.
Last week I ordered my wedding boots
and ofcourse I had to wear them to try on dresses.
Now the only problem is not wearing them until the big day!
aside from engagement pictures.
Everything is finally coming together and I am so excited about it!
Everyone was right though when they said
"it will be here before ya know it!"

Where were you?

Where was I?
I can remember it as if it was yesterday.
I was in the 5th grade at St. Thomas. Like any other Tuesday it
was my classes turn to go to the library.
The librarian and many other teachers were glued to the television
the majority of the time we were in there but I didn't think too much about it.
After returning to my classroom where Mrs. Sulens also had the
other half of our class watching the tv we were filled in with what was going on.
I am not going to lie at such a young age I didn't even know what
the twin towers were or the severity of what was going on.
The news station was kept on for the remainder of the day
and since I went to a Catholic School the whole school actually gathered in the church
where we prayed for all the people being involved in this horrible tragedy.

The following day at school Mrs. Sulens taught our whole class the words to
Good Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood.
To this day I still remember this song word for word.

This morning on my way to work I was reflecting
on what had happened on this day 11 years ago and thanked God that
I didn't know anyone personally involved in any of the September 11th attacks
and that I have not lost anyone defending our freedom.
